On Friday, 19.12.2025. at the Krug Gallery in Dugi Rat, starting at 6 pm, organized by the Poljica Art Association “Krug” Dugi Rat, the Annual Krug Exhibition will be officially opened. The annual exhibition of the Poljica Art Association “Krug” Dugi Rat repeatedly confirms that the Krug Gallery is a place with a vibrant art scene. Through its dedication to the preservation and interpretation of local heritage, the Association successfully fulfills its mission of promoting culture and art in its local community, but also beyond. The uniqueness of this exhibition lies in the diversity of the exhibited works and the talent of its members, who have brought a part of their soul and warmth into this space with their work.
The exhibition is not just a display of artworks, but also a celebration of creativity, which connects and inspires them. I hope that – writes Joško Čizmić in the foreword – that as you walk among these wonderful works, you will feel the warmth of Christmas and find inspiration that will accompany you throughout the holidays. Enjoy the exhibition and may you have a happy and blessed Christmas and a successful New Year. Nikša Erceg will perform on guitar in the musical part of the exhibition opening.

It is not simple, nor easy, to write forewords for exhibitions that regularly take place every year. With mostly the same painters, often with similar or similar motifs related to our Dalmatian region, with occasional escapades into sacred or even abstract art.
Last year’s text was inspiring and somehow especially inspired, a kind of essence of the opus of the members of the art association “Krug”. Now, I will try to be at least approximately consistent with the aforementioned expression.
This association, with approximately 25-30 active members, compensates for its activities through participation in art colonies. Meeting other artists, especially from neighboring Bosnia and Herzegovina. or more precisely, to academic painters from the Široki Brijeg and Sarajevo academies. This contributes to the “richness and diversity of artistic expression” (quote from last year’s preface). There are also occasional painting events: painting and exhibitions in Gornji Dolac and Jesenice, humanitarian ones and donations of paintings in Makarska and Podaca. Participation in the International Small Format Exhibitions in Solin and Dubrovnik.
It is no less important to present individual members of this association with independent exhibitions in the space of our Gallery, which “breaks the ice” for further affirmation.
This year’s exhibition will feature 25 artists with 40 paintings. It is an opportunity for new socializing and analysis of recent works, which is a kind of introspection for each individual in relation to the previous period.
