The Croatian Association of Private Shipowners has collected and paid the amount of 63,850 euros as direct financial assistance for its long-time member Damir Kordić, whose Kruna mora sank in the port of Split earlier this month. With the help of a specialized crane, the ship was pulled from the sea today after 22 days.
As a reminder, the ship Kruna mora sank on July 8, 2025, after a severe storm hit Split. The storm caused a rope to break and the ferry “Petar Hektorović” hit several ships, including the Kruna mora, which ended up at the bottom of the harbor. Despite the dramatic situation, no one was injured.
This accident caused a strong response among small shipowners, who reacted quickly and organized a joint relief operation. The amount of 63,850 euros was paid to Mr. Kordić as a sign of solidarity, support and unity.
