Casanova sailed for Dubrovnik like new!

Updated on:

The yacht Casanova has been successfully repaired and ready to continue sailing. The repairs were completed in record time in the port of Bajnice, and the ship set sail for Dubrovnik yesterday.

As a reminder, in the middle of this week, while the ship was moored in Makarska, a fire broke out in the galley of the ship. Thanks to the quick and courageous reaction of the crew, all guests were immediately evacuated and none of them were injured. Unfortunately, the captain and owner of the ship, Velibor Vuković, as well as his brother Krešimir Vuković, both crew members, were injured while extinguishing the fire. The Croatian Association of Private Shipowners hereby expresses its wishes for their speedy and complete recovery.

The crew’s quick intervention, as well as the timely arrival of firefighters, police and ambulance, enabled the fire to be effectively contained and prevented major material damage. The competent authorities conducted a police investigation to determine all the circumstances of the accident.

Once again, we would like to thank all the services that participated in the rescue operation for their high level of professionalism and dedication, and special thanks go to the ship’s crew for their composure and courage, which protected the safety of the passengers at crucial moments.
