Croatia Airlines expands international flight network from Zagreb

The national airline is introducing five new seasonal routes this week, with the first flights to Hamburg and Bucharest today, and new routes to Milan, Madrid and Prague by the end of the week.

Today, Zagreb Airport celebrated the introduction of new seasonal Croatia Airlines flights from Zagreb to Hamburg, Bucharest, Milan, Madrid and Prague, with which the Croatian national airline will connect the Croatian capital with the world even better during this year’s season and contribute to the development of Zagreb’s tourism potential.

This year’s significant expansion of the network of destinations from Zagreb was celebrated with a welcoming ceremony for passengers on the first seasonal flight from Hamburg to Zagreb, who arrived after noon on Croatia Airlines’ new Airbus A220-300 aircraft. The welcoming ceremony was also attended by diplomatic representatives of Germany, Romania, Italy, Spain and the Czech Republic in the Republic of Croatia, i.e. all the countries to which Croatia Airlines introduced new flights this year.

Flights Zagreb – Hamburg will be operated on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays, and this afternoon the first seasonal flight on the Zagreb – Bucharest route is planned, on which aircraft will fly on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Tomorrow (July 2), flights Zagreb – Milan will begin, which are also planned three times a week – on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. On Thursday, July 3, a new route Zagreb – Madrid will be introduced, on which passengers will have flights on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and the first flight on the new seasonal route Zagreb – Prague is planned for Friday, July 4, and aircraft will fly on it on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Flights on all new Croatia Airlines routes this year are planned until October 2025. 2024.

During this year’s tourist season, Croatia Airlines will directly connect the Croatian capital with a total of 23 international destinations – Amsterdam, Athens (via Dubrovnik), Barcelona, Vienna, Berlin, Brussels, Bucharest, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Hamburg, London (Heathrow), Madrid, Milan, Mostar, Munich, Paris, Prague, Rome (via Split/Dubrovnik), Sarajevo, Skopje, Stockholm, Tirana and Zurich.

During this period, the national airline will connect Croatia with a total of 30 international destinations, or 31 European airports, and the aircraft will fly on 55 international scheduled routes. The summer flight schedule includes a total of more than 18,200 flights (7% more than in the same period in 2024), offering more than 2,260,000 seats (18% more than in 2024).

As a reminder, the renewal of Croatia Airlines’ fleet, the largest project in the company’s history, began in 2024 when two new Airbus A220 aircraft were added to the fleet, out of a total of 15 with which the company will replace its entire existing fleet by 2027. 2024. During this year, three more new aircraft of the same type arrived, and during this year’s tourist season, the national airline has five state-of-the-art aircraft at its disposal, featuring innovative design and the latest generation of technology.
