Croatia Airlines first in the world with the 127-seat Airbus A220-100

Updated on:

Croatia Airlines welcomed the seventh of a total of 15 new Airbus A220 aircraft in Zagreb, with which the company is renewing and modernizing its entire fleet.

This is the first new A220-100 aircraft in the Croatia Airlines fleet, bearing the registration marks 9A-CAO and named Dubrovnik. The first new A220-100 arrived directly from Airbus’s factory in Mirabel, Canada, as did all six new A220-300 aircraft with 149 passenger seats that have so far been included in the fleet of the Croatian national airline.

“We are proud to have become the fifth airline in the world to have an A220-100 aircraft in its fleet, and what is particularly interesting is that our newest aircraft has the largest number of seats compared to all aircraft of this type. Our first A220-100, which will bear the name of the Croatian tourist pearl Dubrovnik, will further strengthen our flight network, provide passengers and crews with a first-class flying experience, and at the same time contribute to a more sustainable business for our company. We thank our partners – manufacturer Airbus and lessor Air Lease Corporation – for their quality cooperation and support in the implementation of the renewal of the entire fleet, the largest strategic project in the history of Croatia Airlines.”, stated Jasmin Bajić, CEO of Croatia Airlines.

The entire fleet renewal project is planned to be completed in 2027, when Croatia Airlines’ fleet should have a total of 15 new A220 aircraft, of which 13 will be A220-300s and two A220-100s.
