The newest tourist attraction celebrating our world-famous breed will be a source of pride for Dalmatia and all of Croatia.
The Dalmatian dog, a unique and world-famous breed that has proven its origins in Dalmatia, has finally got its own House in the center of Šibenik.
The fact that the Dalmatian dog is known in every corner of our planet, but that few people know that it originates from Croatia, was the main inspiration for the founders of the Dalmatian Dog House, true lovers of animals, nature and society, and renowned experts in the fields of marketing, design and project management gathered in the creative agency HEARTH. Therefore, the Dalmatian Dog House celebrates the iconic Dalmatians, as well as the rich heritage of Dalmatia, in an original and inspiring way, giving our indigenous and one of the world’s most recognizable breeds all the attention it deserves.
“The journey from the beginning to the realization until today has taken about two years, and the idea itself has been brewing for years and years. That’s why I’m very proud today because we’ve done a big thing. A big thing for us, but also a big thing for Šibenik, Dalmatia and Croatia. This is one of those ideas that many people wonder ‘how is it possible that it hasn’t been done by now’, but that’s how it is with big ideas, they look simple when you see them, and few people remember them. And that’s where Hearth’s strength lies, in creating such ideas and, equally important, in realizing them.” – said Igor Mladinović, director of the creative agency HEARTH, which is the founder of the Dalmatian Dog House.

The enthusiasm of the numerous guests who came to the grand opening of the Dalmatian Dog House could not, and should not, be hidden, because the House truly offers extremely interesting and attractive content for children and adults, and is also the home of our little spotted dogs, Dalma and Tin, with whom guests can socialize during their visit to the House. From the characteristics of the breed, the role of Dalmatian dogs in society throughout history, their appearances in pop culture to entertainment for children and attractive “Instagrammable” exhibits, the Dalmatian Dog House, following the trends of modern museology, offers a special experience and leaves no one indifferent. Even the souvenirs have been specially conceived and designed by famous Croatian artists, while the plush Dalmatians as souvenirs were made by employees of URIHO, the Institution for Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities.
“I am delighted, to say the least, delighted. For years I have been advocating for the Dalmatian dog to be promoted more and I have been trying to convince people that the Dalmatian dog is truly a Croatian dog. And now I have finally come to my senses. The Dalmatian dog has returned home. Let him go,” said Lada Štefek from Split.

The fact that this unique and comprehensive experience will be one of the main tourist attractions in Croatia and that the Dalmatian Dog House will further enrich the tourist offer of Šibenik, Šibenik-Knin County and the entire Dalmatia was personally confirmed by the Mayor of Šibenik, Željko Burić, and the Šibenik-Knin County Prefect and envoy of the Prime Minister, Paško Rakić, who also came to support and visit the Dalmatian Dog House in person.
The Dalmatian Dog House is located in the center of Šibenik at Ulica kralja Zvonimira 42a, and will be open every day. More information about the house, opening hours, and visits can be found on the official website of the House at www.houseofthedalmatiandog.com as well as on social networks.
