Caterers, hoteliers, and everyone else involved in tourism share one common concern today: how to find adequate labor in a fast, efficient, and specialized manner.
This problem has been faced by Boško Marjanac, a restaurateur from Lovran, who has been in the industry for 25 years. However, on the eve of the new tourist season, he decided to step into the digital world and start something new.
This year, the portal konobar.hr saw the light of day. It is intended exclusively for companies looking for workers in the hospitality and tourism industry, as well as for anyone interested in working in these sectors – either seasonally or for a longer period.
– For many years, I struggled with finding work and often spoke with colleagues, cafe owners and hoteliers who had the same problem. Job advertisements on standard portals often get lost in a sea of other industries. Before the season, they have the most job advertisements for cafes, hotels and tourism in general, but sometimes you can’t see the tree for the forest. That’s why I decided to develop my own platform that will simply connect those who want to work and those who are looking for workers in these industries – explains Boško.
Goal: Connecting
For all employers looking for workers, the good news is that advertising on the konobar.hr portal is completely free. After a simple registration, companies and crafts can publish ads for vacant job positions and specify in detail all the conditions and expectations they have from future employees.
– The idea of the portal is to be as easy to use as possible, but also to be regional, meaning that it can be used by everyone from Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia and beyond. Our goal is also that foreign hotels, for example those in ski resorts, can advertise their needs for labor here during the winter – Boško points out.
Workers who register on the portal will regularly receive notifications about job vacancies, while employers will be sent resumes of candidates who match their criteria.
In addition, portal users will be able to follow current industry trends on the blog, and a special section will be dedicated to the project of selecting the 20 best bars in Croatia, in order to promote the best ones, but also to motivate others to follow that path.
