“Safe Sailing 2025” – an action of increased surveillance in the area of eight captaincies

Today, the action of enhanced surveillance of navigation safety in the Adriatic “Safe Navigation 2025” is being held, in which vessels and officers of all port authorities and associated port offices are engaged.

The campaign is taking place in the area of eight port authorities – Pula, Rijeka, Senj, Zadar, Šibenik, Split, Ploče and Dubrovnik.

The aim of the campaign is the preventive protection of all participants in maritime traffic during the period of increased maritime traffic during the tourist season, when there is a significant increase in the presence of domestic and foreign vessels in the Adriatic.

Special emphasis of the surveillance activities will be focused on controlling the speed of navigation in the prohibited area, vessel rental, as well as on passenger ships in national navigation intended for one-day excursions and multi-day cruises, in terms of checking the validity of the ship’s administration, possession of crew certificates, etc., and the alcohol consumption of crew members and compliance with the obligation to report through the CIMIS system will also be checked.
