This year’s CROYA fair surpassed last year’s edition: 48 luxury vessels, 17 exhibitors and more than 250 charter brokers from all over the world, confirming that Split has become an indispensable gathering place for industry professionals. The opening ceremony was attended by numerous representatives of state and local institutions and fair partners.
‘Such events are extremely necessary for Croatia, our economy and tourism. I am pleased that compared to last year, a larger number of ships, as well as agents, are present. Minister Tonči Glavina and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Croatia will continue to support this project, which is increasingly taking on the characteristics of a world event,’ said Special Advisor to the Minister of Tourism and Sports Marko Žaja.
Split will continue to support CROY
For the second year in a row, the Split-Dalmatia County is also providing its support to the entire project. The Deputy County Prefect of Split-Dalmatia, Stipe Čogelja, expressed his satisfaction with the fact that they recognized the initiative, vision and idea of the organizers from the very first moment:
‘All the important names in yachting are here today, in our city, on the West Coast – coming together and collaborating. I thank the members of the CROYA team for connecting us and I look forward to the sea and the boats, and where better place than in Split?’.
The Deputy Mayor of the City of Split, Ivo Bilić, did not hide his satisfaction with such a gathering of luxury vessels in our city: “This is something that gives Split an advantage for the future. Participants will certainly take away excellent impressions, especially when we connect all this with our culture and gastronomy. The city will continue to support events of this importance, especially those held outside the season.”
The president of the Split County Chamber, Joze Tomaš, also joined in congratulating the organizers on their vision and dedication, emphasizing that this project will position not only Split, but the entire region in the future:
‘This is a unique event that brings together both buyers and suppliers in one place – here the charter broker can immediately see what to offer his guest. I congratulate the organizers on their vision and courage. Croatia has almost 19,000 berths, and only 1,000 are applicable for ships longer than 20 meters. This is an important incentive, and we at the Croatian Chamber of Commerce want and can support this even more strongly.’
International networking and strengthening of the sector
There was no shortage of good wishes for successful networking, new business opportunities, and pleasant socializing: “This fair demonstrates the importance of international networking and strengthening professional relationships through this format. We proudly continue to build a platform that connects the industry on a global level,” said the president of the CRO.Y.A. association, Stipe Petričević, with satisfaction, congratulating each member of the organizing committee on their engagement.
The CROYA Charter Show program continues for the next two days on the West Coast of Split, where visitors can expect competitions, business meetings, presentations and numerous other events.
Among the exhibitors are representatives of the Croatian Association of Private Shipowners with their luxury vessels Navilux, Love Story, Freedom, Casablanca, Maia, Corsario, Lady Gita, Son de Mar and Malallure.
