Updated on:

The holiday of St.Nicholas was celebrated in the parish of St. Roko in Krilo Jesenice, he was the protector of children, but also of sailors and all those who sail. In Krilo Jesenice, love for the sea and sailing has been nurtured for centuries. This small place is famous for its fleet of once wooden, now modern tourism boats. The association of tourist boat owners of the entire Adriatic has more than 250 members who have boats for multi-day, round trips, i.e. modern and luxurious tourist mini-cruisers of about 50 meters in length, and most of the fleet is located right in the port of Krilo Jesenice.

“Saint Nicholas means a lot to us. The sea is not always calm, there are a thousand troubles, and the sailing season is long. Many locals and guests from all over the world sail on our ships who want to get to know the beauty of our beautiful country. Storms as well as the wind are also frequent, so we always invoke the blessing of St. Nicholas to accompany us”, said Ante Rakuljić, member of the Board of Directors of the Croatian Association of Private Shipowners.

Holy Mass, a procession was organized in which many locals participated with the traditional blessing of the boats. The traditional celebration from Krilo Jesenica, as well as the Holy Mass, was covered by Laudato television.
