The director of the Port Authority of the Split-Dalmatia County, Domagoj Maroević, was a guest on the Radio Brač program on October 2nd, 2024, and spoke, among other things, about the plan for the construction and development of ports in the County. Thus, he pointed out that the construction of the port in Omiš started in 2021 and that the completion of the works is expected in April of next year, which, when we talk about the seasonal mooring of ships, will enable about 50 berths.

Small shipowners are eagerly awaiting the start of work in the Krilo Jesenice port, which, according to Domagoj Maroević, should begin in the first quarter of 2025. He emphasized that a construction permit has been obtained for this extremely important port, and that the signing of an agreement on co-financing with EU funds in the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure is expected by the end of October this year. Immediately after that, as he points out, the implementation of the public procurement procedure for the selection of the contractor will follow.

The development of the Krilo port, where the largest fleet of small ships on the Adriatic is located, has been pending for almost a decade, and the lack of summer and winter berths is the biggest problem for small shippers in Croatia.
