The Croatian Association of Private Shipowners, with its 250 ships, is the largest and oldest association of tourist shipowners on the Adriatic.<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Most of the shipowners gathered in our Association originate from the Jesenice Wing, located between Split and Omi\u0161 in the Split-Dalmatia County.
The oldest, most numerous and the only one of its kind associations that goes beyond regional significance and, accordingly, most credibly represents the voice of small Croatian shipowners.

HUPB, among other things, represents the interests of its members, small shipowners, before the competent state bodies and organizations, identifies their problems and encourages all stakeholders to solve them.

On cruises along the Adriatic, 442 ships with 4,056 cabins\/rooms, or 8,350 beds, sail, while the capacity of excursion ships is 12,385 places. In addition to HUPB, smaller Shipowners’ Associations operate on the Adriatic. <\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n

HUPB employs an average of 1,122 employees, while small Croatian shipping companies employ an average of 2,652 employees. In addition to professional crew members employed on board, family members of shipowners who are either employed at another job or are students, retired, etc. (spouses, children students, parents, etc. are usually engaged in administrative work, supplying the ship with provisions and various necessities for changing guests, and similar activities on land during the season.

Small Croatian shipping companies are a unique part of the Croatian nautical tourism offer, and what they have in common is that they simultaneously meet all 8 of the following criteria:
