At the beginning of October, the Croatian Association of Private Shipowners addressed a letter to the Prefect of the Split-Dalmatia County, Bla\u017eenko Boban, in order to point out the problem of boat moorings in the coming seasons after the announcement of the reconstruction and extension of the wharf of St. Petra in the port of Split. Namely, the work in this area will make it impossible to tie up the ships of small shipping companies on round trips in the seasons of 2025 and 2026. The port of Split is the most important port for embarking and disembarking guests as well as providing complete supplies.
The offered alternative moorings in the ports of Split-west coast, Omi\u0161-newly built port, Ka\u0161tel Stari, Trogir and Makarska will not be able to meet all the needs for moorings, but also significantly complicate the work of travel agencies and shipping companies. Likewise, the question of the return of small shipping companies to the port of Split after the reconstruction of the wharf St. Petra.
“It is important for us to gather all stakeholders as soon as possible in order to generate the best solutions to the newly created situation.
