The story of Split began a long time ago, more than 17 centuries ago. Then the Roman Emperor Diocletian decided to build a palace on a peninsula near the great Roman city of Salona in which he would spend his final years. Many centuries later, the Palace and the city that developed from it would be included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n

And so, a walk through the ancient city is actually a journey through time, from ancient Aspalathos to modern Split. But also enjoying the top achievements of architecture, visiting numerous museums or attending numerous events… <\/p>\n\n

But Split is much, much more than a rich history and impressive architecture, no matter how magnificent it is. It is a city where you can enjoy rich gastronomy, film, theater and music festivals, exhibitions. It is also a city that offers a lot of entertainment. If you prefer peace and quiet to the hustle and bustle of the city, the green oasis of Marjan Forest Park is nearby, or kilometers of beaches with beautiful clear sea. <\/p>\n\n

And when you find yourself suddenly drawn into the hustle and bustle of Split, the people of Split, who are in love with their city for a reason, will eagerly and passionately explain to you how you actually came to be in the center of the world!<\/p>\n\n
