Croatia stands out as the only nautical destination in the world where the majority of marina staff are trained in sustainability, ensuring that visitors can receive guidance from experts dedicated to protecting the marine environment. This decision helps preserve our seas and improves the overall experience of our guests. <\/p>\n\n

The Green Sail Marina partnership program plays a key role in shaping the future of sustainable nautical tourism. Since 2017, Green Sail has been providing essential sustainability education, training around 800 participants every two years ensuring that 34 marinas are continuously upgrading their knowledge. <\/p>\n\n

More than 1000 participants educated<\/h2>\n\n

In addition, Green Sail has successfully educated more than 1,000 participants through its online courses on marine sustainability, climate change, and the basics of sustainability when renting yachts in Croatia.<\/p>\n\n

Ongoing education is key to raising awareness of environmental challenges and equipping marina staff with the expertise needed to drive real change. By empowering them to support charter operators and their clients in adopting sustainable practices, Green Sail actively protects marine ecosystems and sets new standards for responsible tourism. <\/p>\n\n

Green Sail, a non-profit organization, is dedicated to raising awareness and providing practical solutions for environmental protection in the nautical industry. Through partnerships with yacht charter companies, marinas and other stakeholders, they work to make sustainable sailing the norm. <\/p>\n

Green Sail Footprint System<\/h2>\n\n

Another unique system has been developed in Croatia. It is the Green Sail Footprint System, which calculates a rating for each vessel by taking into account the emissions produced by the vessel, its energy and water consumption, and the amount of waste generated on board. The verification process helps companies in the nautical industry measure and reduce their environmental impact through a structured and transparent assessment. Many yacht charter companies based in Croatia already use this system. <\/p>\n\n
