After the information appeared that the yacht Argo I, moored in the port of Molat, allegedly released fecal water into the sea under the floodlights, the competent inspection promptly reacted and carried out an official inspection. The results are unequivocal – the claims made are untrue and inaccurate! <\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n

During the inspection, no indication was found that would indicate the discharge of faecal water from the vessel. An inspection of the ship’s systems and available documentation determined that the discharge of faeces was technically not possible in the manner stated in the reports. <\/p>\n\n

“Such unfounded announcements, although motivated by citizens’ concerns, can cause serious damage. Not only to the owners of specific ships, but also to the entire nautical tourism sector, which constitutes a unique and extremely valuable part of Croatia’s tourist offer. Shipowners invest significant resources and effort in maintaining environmental protection standards and quality of service, and the public dissemination of unverified information can seriously damage our reputation,” the Croatian Association of Private Shipowners points out. <\/p>\n\n

Tourism is one of the most important Croatian economic sectors, and any damaged reputation, especially in a time when news spreads at an inexorable speed, leaves long-lasting consequences.<\/p>\n\n
