This weekend alone, as many as 210 aircraft and 55 thousand passengers passed through Split Airport.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n

Mate Melvan, <\/em>head of passenger arrivals and departures at Split Airport, said that there were slightly more departures in August, but that did not mean that arrivals were stagnant.<\/p>\n\n

\u2013 We have grown by approximately 3 to 4 percent in the first two weeks, and in the first seven months we have recorded an increase of 7 percent compared to last year, Melvan emphasized.<\/p>\n\n

He added that traffic grew in double digits in the first months of the year, although it was on a smaller base.<\/p>\n\n

\u2013 It still shows an increase and the desired figures, that we are also growing in the winter months and with less busy periods, he said.<\/p>\n\n

\u2013 Portugal and Porto are a new destination, a new market. We are connected to 28 countries, directly to 90 destinations during the heart of the season, and through them to the entire world, said Melvan. <\/p>\n\n

So far, around two and a half million passengers have passed through Split Airport this year.<\/p>\n\n
