The kick-off conference for the project “Reconstruction of the Port of Murter” was held at the Jedro Community Center in Murter, officially starting the implementation of one of the most important infrastructure projects for the island of Murter. The implementation of this project, for which a contract was signed today, will improve the maritime infrastructure by reconstructing the operational port coast in the Hramina Bay and ensure the necessary infrastructure prerequisites for the further development of the island’s economy and employment. The project is worth a total of 4.3 million euros, of which the Port Authority of \u0160ibenik-Knin County has been provided with 3.96 million euros in non-refundable EU funds from the Cohesion Fund. The contract was awarded to the joint venture Graditelj svra\u0161ta d.o.o. and Hidroradovi Sagena. <\/p>\n\n

The participants of the opening conference were welcomed by the Director of the Port Authority of \u0160ibenik-Knin County, Jadranka Fr\u017eop, emphasizing that the Murter Port reconstruction project represents an important step forward in improving the maritime infrastructure of the island of Murter, which will further improve the quality of life of the local population.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n\n

\u2013 The reconstructed port will primarily serve fishing vessels in preparation, vessels in public maritime traffic, excursion vessels, vessels in transit and civil protection vessels, which has not been possible until now, and the upgraded part of the pier will be used by pedestrians, but access will also be provided for personal, emergency and smaller delivery vehicles to the ends of the pier \u2013 explained Jadranka Fr\u017eop.<\/p>\n\n

The opening conference was also attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure, Oleg Butkovi\u0107, who praised and supported the project.<\/p>\n\n

Renaissance of the Croatian coast<\/h2>\n\n

\u2013 This will be another in a series of European projects, which finance the renovation and construction of port infrastructure from European funds. Last year, we signed a similar renovation project here for Prvi\u0107 Luka and Prvi\u0107 \u0160epurine, and this is just a part of the projects implemented in \u0160ibenik-Knin County. When I became minister 10 years ago, the investments were around 25 million kuna, and today’s contract alone is more than that, so it is clearer to you how much we have managed to invest, which we will certainly continue to do. I like to say that we are continuing the renaissance of the Croatian coast \u2013 emphasized Minister Butkovi\u0107. <\/p>\n\n

Also attending the conference and delivering a few words of appreciation were the County Prefect of \u0160ibenik-Knin County, Pa\u0161ko Raki\u0107, the Mayor of the Municipality of Murter-Kornati, \u0160ime Je\u017eina, the representative of the design company Pomorski projekti d.o.o. Split Boris Zoki\u0107, and the construction project manager Gustav \u010cervar from the Port Authority of \u0160ibenik-Knin County.<\/p>\n\n

The Cathedral of the Kornati Metropolis<\/h2>\n\n

\u2013 We call Hramina Bay the metropolis of Kornati. In our area, in our municipality, there are more than 200 islands, including the Kornati National Park and the \u017dut-Sit group of islands. There is no infrastructure, electricity, water, or traffic on these islands. People live on these islands, they make a living from agriculture, catering, nautical activities, etc. So, logistics or transport is of vital importance to them. That is why this project is crucial. Only then will we truly rule this area, because Murter is truly the most demanding part of our coast in terms of nautical and maritime matters \u2013 emphasized Mayor \u0160ime Je\u017eina. <\/p>\n\n

The “Reconstruction of the Port of Murter” project includes the reconstruction or extension of the existing pier on the southern (central) part of the operational coast, the extension (extension) of the existing pier, as well as the rehabilitation and reconstruction of its coastal walls and the renovation of the parapet wall, signaling and landscaping of coastal areas. Thus, with the project, the completion of which is expected at the end of 2027, Murter will receive a new, upgraded port with increased capacity and services, which will contribute to increasing the competitiveness of the port and Murter itself compared to other ports and islands in the region, attracting more traffic and investments. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
