Work has begun on the St. Peter’s Pier in the Port of Split! A significant expansion and modernization of one of the key traffic points for island lines is underway. <\/p>\n\n

The works are being carried out on the northern side of the pier, where the existing shoreline is being extended by 53 meters. This will give Split as much as 5,350 square meters of new land handling area. The project includes the construction of two new ones, and the extension and expansion of three existing ro-ro (ferry) ramps. <\/p>\n\n

The new St. Peter’s Pier will have a total of five ferry ramps – one 30-meter wide and four 20-22.5-meter wide. Two 100-meter berths are also planned, as well as one berth each 108, 147 and 188 meters long, which will enable the reception of larger and more modern vessels. <\/p>\n\n

The aim of the project is to increase the availability and quality of coastal line traffic with the islands from the Port of Split. The new infrastructure should significantly relieve traffic in the inner city area, reduce congestion and shorten the boarding time for passengers and vehicles. <\/p>\n\n
