The question arises as to how other EU members will position themselves after this move.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n

Greece has unilaterally decided to exempt British travelers from the European Union’s new Biometric Registration System (EES) in order to reduce congestion and waiting times at its airports.<\/p>\n\n

A statement on the Greek embassy\u2019s website and posts on its official social media channels now confirm that the rules have been lifted. The statement reads: \u201cAs part of the implementation of the Entry\/Exit System, from 10 April 2026, British passport holders are exempt from biometric registration at Greek border crossings.\u201d <\/p>\n\n

Instead of fingerprinting and facial scanning, British citizens will continue to undergo only a quick passport check and stamping when entering Greece.<\/p>\n\n
