The Telemach project with the autonomous vessel Faust V has already removed 7.5 tons of waste from the seabed and shores.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n

While the sea represents a place of rest and relaxation for many, beneath its surface lies a different picture. One that we rarely see during summer days on the coast. For years, waste that does not belong in the marine environment has been accumulating at the bottom of the Adriatic. From plastic and car tires to discarded household items, leaving consequences for the entire marine ecosystem. <\/p>\n\n

With the aim of responding to this problem with concrete action, Telemach<\/a> launched the Happy Sea project. An initiative that, through a combination of technology, education and clean-up actions, aims to encourage greater concern for the preservation of the Adriatic. <\/p>\n\n

Implemented in collaboration with the Digital Innovation Hub Innovamare and the Ru\u0111er Bo\u0161kovi\u0107 Institute, the project combines technology, science, education and the local community to contribute to the preservation of the Adriatic and encourage a more responsible attitude towards the sea. Special emphasis is placed on children and young people, as they have the opportunity to form habits that will contribute to environmental protection in the long term. <\/p>\n\n

The autonomous vessel Faust V is used in the clean-up operations. With the help of Telemach’s 5G network<\/a>, it scans the seabed and precisely locates the waste. Local divers then remove the found waste from the seabed, while students participate in educational workshops and coastal clean-up operations. In this way, modern technology becomes a tool for nature protection, while the entire process also gains a strong educational dimension. <\/p>\n\n

Since the project was launched, six major clean-up operations have been carried out along the Croatian coast \u2013 from Zadar and Krilo Jesenice to Rovinj and the island of Krk. As much as seven and a half tons of waste were removed from the sea and the coast, while more than 1,200 children learned about the importance of preserving the sea and being environmentally responsible through workshops, performances and other educational activities. <\/p>\n\n
