Tramontana Yachts’ great success puts Croatia on the world map of luxury shipbuilding
The Croatian luxury superyacht Reposado, from the Tramontana Yachts fleet, triumphed yesterday at The International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2025, held at the famous Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, winning the award for best design in the Sailing Yacht category. This exceptional recognition celebrates not only the ship, but also a whole range of institutions, experts and visionaries who have woven a part of themselves into this project with their work – from the Croatian Register of Shipping and port authorities, to local designers, engineers and all the craftsmen who breathed life into Reposad.
The award, as Tramontana points out, is a collective achievement and strong confirmation that Croatian shipbuilding has something to say – and show – on the world stage.
‘Boat design is my personal expression, and Reposado is the result of decades of dreams, work and learning,’ said Antonio Ivanišević, owner of Tramontana Yachts. ‘It is the so-called ‘sister ship’ of our previous ship Scorpios, but even then, while we were building it, we were already planning in our heads how to make Reposado even better. Because it’s these little things, which many don’t see, that make the difference in this world.’
The ship’s name, Reposado, symbolizes maturity and experience – ‘the third ship in a row, matured like wine’, says Ivanišević, who with his authentic and bold design wanted to create a yacht that is ‘recognizable from miles away, that causes a wow effect, and even that strange reaction – ‘sexy’.’
The award comes as a wind at my back, but also as a strong motivation for the future. ‘This recognition does not belong to me, but to everyone – from every craftsman in the hangar to the material deliverers, from engineers to maritime institutions. I am just the glue that has bound all these wonderful people together. This is a national victory.’
Ivanišević points out and expands the significance of this success: ‘If we, a small team from Croatia, managed to win this kind of award against the world’s biggest names – it is proof that as a nation we can do miracles, only when we unite. Look at our athletes! Tramontana wants to be an example of open-mindedness, collaboration, constant learning and humble ambition.’
Tramontana Yachts is currently much closer to the beginning of its story than the end. Reposado is not the end of a chapter, but just a warm overture to what is yet to come.
