The Croatian Association of Private Shippers as well as the Krilo and Bajnica Port Association, which is also an assistant to the Port Authority of the Split-Dalmatia County for the Krilo port, inform and confirm that the 40-meter-long ship PACIFIC has sunk in the port of Krilo, which is owned by our fellow shipowner from Krilo Jesenice, a member of both our Associations.
The ship sank to a depth of 17 meters, and the reasons for the sinking are still unknown. Also, there were no injured people during the sinking, no damage to neighboring ships and no significant pollution of the sea. According to the owner, minimal amounts of fuel were stored on board. Firefighters installed absorbent dams, thus limiting the potential spread of pollution, while the owner takes all necessary actions to get the ship to shore as soon as possible.
