According to a report by the American Virtuoso, one of the world’s leading luxury travel operators, Croatia has been included among the top five world destinations for 2025, said Minister Tonči Glavina in New York this weekend, where he participated in the “New York Travel & Adventure Show” tourism fair.
A special feature of this year’s presentation of Croatian tourism on the American market is Croatia’s status as a partner country, and the Croatian pavilion also won a special award for the best pavilion at the fair, the Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ), which represents the entire Croatian tourist offer at the fair, announced on Sunday.
“I am pleased to say that according to the Luxe Report by the American Virtuoso, one of the world’s leading luxury travel operators, Croatia has been included among the top five world destinations for 2025,” said Minister of Tourism and Sports Tonči Glavina.

He added that this further confirms Croatia’s international recognition on the global tourism market, and through a comprehensive tourism reform they want to ensure better results, strengthening Croatia’s position as a destination that offers quality, diversity and unique experiences.
Their goal, he added, is to ensure through investments that Croatia remains synonymous with quality, authenticity and sustainability, thus attracting tourists, including from the American market, throughout the year.
A special program was held as part of the Croatian exhibition area, and journalists were introduced to the main goals and trends of Croatian tourism for this year, including concern for sustainability and the creation of unique experiences in off-peak periods and in the continental parts of our country.
Americans consider Croatia a safe country
Director of the Croatian Tourism Board Kristjan Staničić said that Americans value our country for its sense of security and unique experiences, and since they often visit it outside the high season, they also greatly influence the development of year-round Croatian tourism.
The Croatian delegation met with a number of strategic partners, such as the American tour operator Sky Vacations, which promotes Croatia’s lesser-known destinations as ideal places to vacation outside the main summer months. A meeting was also held with the organizer of the Spartan Trail, which will be held in Croatia again this year, according to the CNTB.
In addition to the CNTB as the main exhibitor, 20 Croatian co-exhibitors are also presenting their offerings at the Croatian stand.
Last year, Croatia achieved more than 776,000 arrivals and 2.2 million overnight stays from the American market, which is a 9 percent increase in arrivals and 8 percent in overnight stays compared to 2023, according to the CNTB.
