Airports in Croatia served 365,000 passengers in January, or 8.8 percent more than in the same month last year, and the majority of these passengers, or 295,000, passed through Zagreb Airport, which is up 6.4 percent year-on-year, according to data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS).

In addition to Zagreb Airport, other larger airports in Croatia also achieved an increase in the number of passengers in January 2026 compared to January 2025, but with significantly fewer passengers than in Zagreb.

The largest increase in January 2026 of 24 percent was achieved by Split Airport, with 42.3 thousand passengers, while 23 thousand at Dubrovnik Airport was an increase of 16.3 percent, and a little more than 1,590 passengers at Zadar Airport, 14 percent more than in January 2025.

Osijek Airport also had an increase in the number of passengers of almost 19 percent, with around 1,400, and Pula Airport had 1.7 percent more passengers, or a little over 1,300.

Rijeka Airport was the only one to see a decrease in the number of passengers in January 2026 compared to January 2025, by 17.2 percent, with 423 passengers.

In international passenger traffic, Croatian airports were most connected in January 2026 with airports in Germany, Turkey and France, with which an increase in the number of passengers was also achieved.

Although there were more passengers, aircraft operations (landings and takeoffs) at Croatian airports in January 2026 were slightly lower by 5.6 percent than in January 2025, or around five thousand.

Total cargo traffic at airports was also lower, by 14.3 percent, at 609 tons.
