The Crime Prevention Council and the Split-Dalmatia Police Department say that prevention is the key to maintaining a safe and quality life during the summer.

The Crime Prevention Council of the City of Split, in cooperation with the Split-Dalmatia Police Department, organized a public forum that was held yesterday in the premises of the Marko Marulić Split City Library.

By analyzing the existing activities carried out in the City of Split and the current issues in the field of crime prevention, the issue of sustainable security has been defined as an essential condition for the sustainable development of tourism. Partnership of all stakeholders and responsibility for preventive measures are part of the planned activities in cooperation between the City of Split and the Split-Dalmatia Police Department, with the presence of representatives of other emergency services. Interest in security in tourism must be of particular importance to the tourism and all other sectors and city services, which creates the prerequisites for additional quality of life for all citizens during the tourist season.

“I believe that all services are ready for another tourist season, and today we will have the opportunity to hear statistical data from last year, which will be presented by Paško Ugrina from the Split-Dalmatia Police Department. The numbers clearly indicate that the police are doing their job well and that the city is safe. Our goal as the Crime Prevention Council is to maintain a level of security in the city of Split through prevention, primarily the safety of the citizens of the city of Split, and all our tourists. The tourism industry in the city of Split is very strong and dominant, and if we send a safe image to the world, we can hope for a greater number of tourists,” Jakša Balov, a Split city councilor from the HDZ and president of the Crime Prevention Council of the City of Split, told us.
