At this year’s MICHELIN plaque award ceremony, held on Monday at the Morosini Grimani Castle in Svetvinčenat, Istria, the Split-Dalmatia County once again confirmed its status as one of Croatia’s leading gastronomic destinations.

According to the prestigious Michelin Guide for 2026, there are a total of 21 Michelin-starred restaurants in the Split-Dalmatia County. Restaurant Krug from Split, the only restaurant in the Split-Dalmatia County with a Michelin star, has successfully retained its prestigious status. I am particularly pleased that Makarska has received more recognition this year.

The prestigious gastronomic map also includes the Makarska restaurant Ješka Fine Bistro, which has received a Michelin recommendation. The Michelin Guide for 2026 also includes the following restaurants from the Split-Dalmatia County: K.užina (Split), Dvor (Split), ZOI (Split), Šug (Split), Zrno Soli (Split), Kadena (Split), Zinfandel Food & Wine Bar (Split), Konoba Fetivi (Split), BÒME (Split), Franka (Trogir), Il Ponte (Trogir), Mare (Trogir), Konoba TRS (Trogir), Jeny (Tučepi), Nicolo Polo (Gradac), Konoba Kala (Supetar, Brač), Otok (Supetar, Brač), Mediterraneo Dine & Wine (Hvar) and Terra Restaurant by Maslina Resort (Stari Grad, Hvar).

– We are extremely pleased that the restaurants of the Split-Dalmatia County have confirmed their quality again this year and retained their Michelin recognition. These results confirm that the Split-Dalmatia County is continuously developing a top-notch gastronomic scene, based on authentic Dalmatian ingredients, creativity and dedication of our chefs and restaurateurs. It is precisely thanks to their work and excellence that our destination continues to strengthen its recognition and position itself among the most attractive eno-gastronomic destinations in the Mediterranean – said Ivana Vladović, director of the Split-Dalmatia County Tourist Board.

According to the latest TOMAS Croatia survey, gastronomy is among the leading reasons for tourists coming to Croatia, ranking fourth. The Split-Dalmatia County Tourist Board therefore places special emphasis on the development and promotion of gastronomy, through projects such as the “Dalmatian Brunch”, which aim to brand and bring traditional Dalmatian dishes back into the restaurant offering.

Also, the Split-Dalmatia County is intensively preparing for the title of European Region of Gastronomy 2027, which represents an additional opportunity to promote the rich gastronomic heritage and authentic flavors of Dalmatia.
