As part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan of the Republic of Croatia 2021-2026, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports has developed ten non-formal educational programs for adults in the tourism and hospitality sector.
As part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan of the Republic of Croatia 2021-2026 and within the framework of Investment C1.6. R1-I3 – Improving the tourism ecosystem and strengthening the capacity of the system for resilient and sustainable tourism , the Ministry of Tourism and Sports has developed ten non-formal educational programs for adults in the tourism and hospitality sector:
- Connecting wine and gastronomic offer,
- Digital transformation and sustainability in serving food and beverages,
- Ecological approaches to using food in cooking,
- Creativity in making innovative desserts
- Communication and cultural diversity in tourism,
- Creating content for digital communication channels in tourism,
- Organizing and implementing events in tourism,
- Creative tourism and storytelling in the function of heritage valorization,
- Implementing the concept of smart tourism in tourist destinations,
- Managing the development of a tourism product in a destination.
The educational programs are based on the results of the Analysis of best practice examples, researching educational and labor market needs, and development needs and potentials for increasing the sustainability and resilience of the tourism sector, which provided key information on potential target groups and recommendations for the development of educational programs. The programs are designed to enable the acquisition of knowledge and skills necessary for competitive and innovative business, which will encourage the sustainable development of the tourism sector. They are aimed at strengthening the sector’s resilience to future challenges and adaptation to modern trends, such as the digital and green transition, with a special emphasis on the inclusion of local residents and vulnerable groups.
