Staničić: Dubai is key in connecting Croatia and Far Eastern markets

The fair is also attended by Kristjan Staničić, director of the Croatian Tourist Board, who spoke on this occasion with partners from the United Arab Emirates, India and Australia. The possibilities of further cooperation in the form of promoting our country in these important markets for Croatian tourism were discussed. With Sandeep Wohra, the possibilities of cooperation in the field of health tourism and strengthening the experiences and impressions of guests in the destination were discussed. The meeting with VFS Global Tourism Services covered potential FAM trips for key travel agents, the organization of congresses and conferences and other events from the MICE industry segments in the pre- and post-season.

“Croatia as a tourist destination has great potential for further growth and development in eastern and distant markets. That is why we want to position our country in this region even more strongly as a high-quality, attractive and sustainable tourist destination. It is Dubai that is the so-called hub, i.e. the main air traffic hub for distant markets. This further indicates the importance of our appearance at the ATM fair, but also the strategic role of direct airlines on the Zagreb – Dubai route. In addition, guests from these markets especially appreciate the rich, diverse and preserved natural heritage, but also the offer of health tourism. Croatia has a lot to offer in that segment,” said Staničić. He also emphasized that these are guests with greater purchasing power. These are guests who like to travel in the pre- and post-season and are looking for top quality and service. The perception of the safety of the destination is also important to them.

Let’s add that the ATM is expected to be visited by more than 37,000 visitors and 7,000 buyers in 2025. Through this year’s theme “Global Travel: Developing Tomorrow’s Tourism Through Improved Connectivity”, the importance of industry-wide collaboration will be highlighted and innovative technologies that are driving the world of travel and tourism will be presented.
