Conventa 2026: Croatia among winners of prestigious “Meeting Star Awards”

Updated on:

The Croatian National Tourist Board successfully presented the Croatian MICE tourism offer at Conventa, the prestigious B2B regional congress exchange held in Ljubljana, again this year. Conventa brought together around 150 buyers and 150 exhibitors from all over the world, confirming its status as one of the most important meetings of MICE industry professionals in Central and Southeastern Europe.

Meeting Star Awards

Our country particularly stood out at the “Meeting Star Awards” ceremony, where numerous Croatian entities won the highest awards, confirming the excellence of the national congress offer. First places were won by Grand Park Hotel Rovinj in the Resort Meeting Hotels category, Zonar Zagreb in the Most Creative Venues category, Meneghetti Wine Hotel & Winery in the Boutique Meeting Hotels category, and Brijuni, Pula in the Outdoor and Natural Event Venues category. In addition to the four first places won, Croatian entities also won three second and two third places in various categories, further confirming the high quality and competitiveness of the Croatian MICE offer at the international level.

This year, a special recognition went to Mirjana Resner, Head of MICE Products at the Croatian National Tourist Board, who was awarded the title of Conventa Ambassador. The award is given to individuals who, through their long-term work, strategic vision and strong commitment, have significantly contributed to the development of the congress industry in the region, as well as to the successful cooperation between Conventa and the Croatian business tourism sector.

Conventa Experience Crawl

This year’s edition of Conventa also brought an important novelty. For the first time, the Conventa Experience Crawl took place, an innovative format that allowed participants to get to know different host destinations through carefully designed experiences, further emphasizing the importance of authenticity and experience in the modern congress industry. As part of the program, selected buyers visited six carefully selected spaces in the center of Ljubljana over two days, where each destination was presented through interactive and artistic content.

In addition to the Croatian Tourist Board, representatives of the tourist boards from Zagreb, Dubrovnik and the Istria County, as well as leading Croatian hoteliers and tourism companies, also participated in this event.

Let us add that at this year’s Conventa, Croatia, among other things, presented some of the latest projects in the congress and hotel industry, further strengthening the country’s recognition as a top MICE destination in the region. Thus, in 2026, new hotel and business facilities are expected to open, including Valamar’s Pical Hotel 5* in Poreč, Opatija Marriott Resort & Spa in Ičići and Mövenpick Hotel Kvarner Bay in Novi Vinodolski.
