Croatian travel agencies brought 2.3 million foreign tourists to Croatia

Italy – the most popular destination for domestic tourists in 2025.

In 2025, Croatian travel agencies organized multi-day trips to Croatia for 2.3 million foreign tourists. They recorded 12.5 million overnight stays. Foreign tourists spent an average of six overnight stays in Croatia. Compared to 2024, 1.8% more foreign tourists came to Croatia, and their overnight stays increased by 0.2%.

Tourists from Germany accounted for the most foreign tourist overnight stays in Croatia organized by Croatian travel agencies, with a share of 27.0%. This was followed by tourist overnight stays from the United Kingdom (10.9%), Poland (7.9%), Austria (7.4%), the Czech Republic (6.0%), Slovenia (5.1%), Italy (4.5%), Hungary (4.3%), the United States (3.6%) and Slovakia (3.0%).

Domestic tourists still most often choose Croatia for multi-day trips, but interest in foreign destinations is also growing. In 2025. hrvatske putničke agencije organizirale su višednevna putovanja za ukupno 752 tisuće domaćih turista. Od toga je 400 tisuća turista (53,3%) putovalo unutar Hrvatske, dok je 351 tisuću turista (46,7%) za putovanje odabralo strane destinacije. U usporedbi s 2024. domaćih turista na višednevnim putovanjima više je za 2,6%. Na putovanjima unutar Hrvatske više ih je za 1%, a na putovanjima u strane zemlje za 4,5%.

In 2025, 351 thousand domestic tourists traveled to foreign countries organized by Croatian travel agencies. On these trips, they spent 1.3 million overnight stays, which is an average of four overnight stays per trip.

The most popular destination was Italy, with a share of 25.8%, followed by Bosnia and Herzegovina (7.1%), Austria (6.2%), France (5.5%), Spain (5.0%), Germany and Slovenia (4.5% each), Hungary (4.4%), Turkey (3.3%) and the Czech Republic (2.5%). The increase in domestic tourists was achieved on trips to Italy, Spain and Turkey, while fewer domestic tourists traveled to the other mentioned destinations than in 2024.
