Safe Dalmatia becomes smart Dalmatia! A platform presented that can be crucial for tourists in crisis situations .
A conference entitled “Safety as the foundation of tourist destination quality – presentation of the safeindalmatia.hr platform” was held today at the County Technology Hub Digital Dalmatia in Split, jointly organized by the Split-Dalmatia County, Digital Dalmatia and the Split-Dalmatia Police Department.
The conference was held at the Digital Dalmatia venue and brought together a number of prominent representatives of tourism, security and institutions involved in the preparation of the tourist season. Among the panelists and guests were the Minister of Tourism and Sports Tonči Glavina, the Prefect of Split-Dalmatia County Blaženko Boban, the Director of the Croatian Tourist Board Kristjan Staničić, the Head of the Administrative Department for Tourism, Maritime Affairs and Transport Ana Glaurdić Mekinić, the Director of the Split-Dalmatia County Tourist Board Ivana Vladović, and representatives of the Split-Dalmatia Police Department and Digital Dalmatia.
In addition to them, the conference was also attended by representatives of tourist boards, as well as members of the boards of the Ministry of the Interior, Split Airport, Jadrolinija and the Port Authority.
As part of the conference, a panel discussion was held on “The Role of Safety as a Key Factor of a Modern Tourist Destination”, during which the web platform safeindalmatia.hr was presented. This is a platform that, through digital tools, contributes to better information and safety of tourists staying in the Split-Dalmatia County. It was emphasized that safety is one of the key foundations of the quality of a tourist destination, especially in a time when tourists expect fast, clear and easily accessible information, not only about police and emergency services, but also about health safety, traffic, pharmacies and other important segments of their stay in the destination.
